The largest beach in Menorca
Son Bou is one of the few open beaches in Menorca, as it is not completely surrounded by cliffs.
With crystal clear waters and white sand, it is ideal for families. With over 2.5km, it is the largest beach on the island.
Apart from the beach, Son Bou also has the remains of an early Christian basilica from the 5th century, and a prehistoric necropolis on its eastern cliffs.
Son Bou was one of the first tourist settlements in Menorca, and that’s one of the reasons why it is fully equipped as such.
With shops, supermarkets, hotels, car rentals, pharmacy, camping, water slides, restaurants and beach bars, it is one of the coastal settlements with more services, not to mention the huge parking lot right next to the beach.
Son bou is located about 40 km from Ciudadela and about 20 from Mahón, and you can reached it by turning south from the main road when you pass by Alaior.
