The queen of southern Menorca
Cala Macarelleta is, for many, the most beautiful beach in the south of Menorca, although that is always a matter of taste. Relatively small, with a pine forest behind it, white sand, crystal clear water, no buildings of any kind, and hidden between limestone cliffs, Macarelleta is a little paradise.
The closest car park to Cala Macarelleta is Cala Macarella, its older sister, a little further east. You can go from one to the other by walking for about 15 minutes along the Camí de Cavalls, an interior path, or through the coastal path, on the cliffs, with more elevation but with more spectacular views. The Cala Macarella car park is, in turn, about 25 minutes walk to the beach. You can also park in Cala Galdana and walk about 40 minutes to access these coves. In Cala Macarella there is a restaurant open during the summer season.
