The largest religious building in Menorca
The Cathedral of Ciutadella de Menorca is a predominantly Gothic building. Its construction began in 1301, shortly after the Christian conquest of the island in 1287.
This fantastic example of Levantine Gothic was built on the remains of an ancient mosque.
Over the centuries it has incorporated sections belonging to other architectural styles, such as Neoclassicism and Baroque.
If you visit Ciutadella, this impressive building is a must visit, especially if you have a good guide. The stories it hides are as amazing as its walls.
The visit to the cathedral can be guided or without a guide.
Tickets can be purchased at the back door of the building.
1 minute from the building is Plaça des Born, where you can park a maximum of 2 hours with a parking meter.
There are free parking areas about an 8-minute walk from the Cathedral.
